All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) is going to organize it’s first National Pickleball Junior’s Tournament for under 18. This tournament will be held on June 9 to 11, 2017, at Pared Ground, Dehradun (Uttarakhand). Shailesh Gawali, secretary of Maharashtra State Pickleball Association (MSPA) announced that ten players from Maharashtra will participate in this tournament. Until now AIPA has organized four national tournaments for senior category. This will be the first national tournament for junior category players. This tournament will see participation of nearly 150 players from 15 states. This tournament will include matches in single, double and mix double categories for girls and boys, below the age of 18.
Here are the players from Maharashtra selected for this tournament: Yash Patil, Krishna Mantri, Ajay Choudhari, Mayur Patil, Kuldeep Mahajan, Sakshi Baviskar, Rutuja Kalike, Aditi Jagtap, Saloni Deoda, Nisha Barela
The selection for this tournament was arranged through a competition in Ahemednagar which included players from 12 districts of the state, informed Shailesh Gawali.
Along with the First Junior’s National Pickleball Tournament, AIPA will host the Federation Cup for seniors, who played in the semifinals of the fourth senior national tournament, held at Jaipur last year, said Sunil Valavalkar, General Secretary of AIPA.
